This one is a real challenge. The original engine wore out and was replaced with another V 12, but from a later car. The fuel injection in this motor, is not tuned to deal with its compression so it just never ran right. I sourced the correct fuel injection system from a later car and am adapting it to work on this car. Not simple, but will make a big difference when its done.
The XK 150 is in the minds of many, the best of the XK series. It may not have had the sporting pedigree of the XK 120 or XK 140, but it was the ultimate evolution of the design before being replaced by the E Type or XKE. This one is in the process of a complete to bare-metal restoration. Next step is the wiring harness.
This customer bought this car from his elderly, beloved uncle. It has been in his family for decades and has had enormous amounts of care invested in it. It is a 1959 MGA roadster. The car had not been used for a very long time so among other things the brakes were frozen. We had to flat tow it to the shop, and entirely rebuild the front and rear brakes, adjust the emergency brake and a few other little things. In part because it is no longer legal to bend brake shoes, the next thing I need this customer to do is drive drive drive his car to bed in the brakes, and then bring it back for a quick longer term adjustment. Please drive your cars, its the best way to keep them healthy!
