Its sort of a new trend, that vintage car owners want to preserve rather than restore their cars. The feeling is you keep the running gear perfect, but you work hard to preserve the patina, scars, history of the car. Its sort of like aging gracefully I guess... no plastic surgery. This particular car is in this state, with its years of use there for all to see, but the top end of the motor finally needed attention. The six cylinder Jaguar engine in these cars is a low stress, very durable unit and the bottom end will go on for every... so we are redoing the top (the cylinder head) and it should give thousands of miles of good service.
